Green Jobs Awards

 November 10, 2011

Compass(x) Strategy is honored to be a sponsor and an attendee at this event to celebrate this year’s winning companies from across the country. These stellar firms are contributing to the environment and the economy and are leaders in green job creation. Together this year’s winners employ more than 2,500 individuals and their annual revenues range from $3 million to more than $25 million. Jonathan Greenblatt, the new  Director of the  White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation will provide the keynote at the Award Reception.

The 2011 Green Jobs Award honorees are: Better World Books, Pacific Biodiesel, Power Partners, Inc., Sacred Power Corporation, SolarCity, Sungevity, and The Taylor Companies. These firms represent diverse industries – from traditional industry innovators, to renewable energy and energy efficiency, to consumer products. Together the companies employ more than 2,500 people and their aggregate revenue exceeds $150 million.

The Green Jobs Award program celebrates businesses that are making valuable contributions to both the economy and the environment. Private companies based in the US with at least $500,000 in revenue and 10 employees, and with a business model that preserves or enhances environmental quality are eligible. Applicants are judged on their environmental contribution, quality of their jobs and benefits, the diversity of employment opportunities, and their level of community engagement.

Location:  AMA Webinar

Nancy Goldstein, Chief Strategist of Compass(x) Strategy will be the featured speaker for the AMA Monthly Webinar.  Please visit the AMA Website for more information.

Consumer surveys consistently report that consumers would choose a brand that “makes the world a better place” over other brands…and will pay more for such a brand – even in a recession.  How should marketers capitalize on this?  Web 2.0 has made it possible for companies to engage with specific communities about relevant causes like never before.  However, having a clear strategy is critical to avoid missteps, which can inadvertently undo the good your company is purporting to do.  This webinar will address some of the issues that companies face when trying to position themselves as “doing good,” as well as provide some solutions and tools to improve your company’s ability to market social good successfully.
